About The Kent Island Resort Wedding Venue
Kent Island, home to The Kent Manor Inn, is the largest island in the Chesapeake Bay. It’s also America’s third oldest permanent English settlement, with a rich and storied history. There have been settlers living on this property since back in 1651! Kent Manor Inn’s main building includes original structures from 1820. However, some parts of the estate may even date back further. The center of the house, including a beautiful eight-window cupola, dates back to just before the Civil War.
Today, Kent Island Resort is a hub for all things hospitality, laced with countryside charm and modern sophistication. The estate sprawls across 220 acres of remarkable parklands, with over 1.7 miles of gorgeous waterfront. The estate offers chic and cozy accommodations, with elegantly decorated guest rooms with lots of bright, natural light. Their in-house bar and restaurant, 18TWENTY, offers delectable, innovative dishes with locally sourced ingredients. There’s a beautiful in-ground pool, hiking and cycling paths, and plenty of opportunities for kayaking and canoeing along the bay.

Details of the Grounds
Kent Island Resort has three unique venue spaces for hosting an unforgettable event. You can choose your event space based on your preferred wedding aesthetic, though all of them are equally beautiful.
For your ceremony, take advantage of the beautiful grounds of the resort. Say “I do” amidst a meadow of grasses and wildflowers blowing in the breeze, framed by an archway or pavilion of your choice. You’ll be surrounded by beautiful countryside views and wide open sky, the perfect backdrop for a romantic vow exchange. Tall, stately trees help to frame your beautiful ceremony as strong and steadfast as your love story.
Then, when it’s time to celebrate, you can escort your guests to one of three locations: The Pavilion, the Garden House, or the Farmstead.
The Locations
The Pavilion is a stunning event tent with a dramatic chiffon-draped ceiling contrasted with wooden beams. The space comes to life with hanging chandeliers and bistro string lighting, bringing a romantic glow as the sun begins to set. Hardwood floors set an elegant tone for a tented space, adding plenty of warmth. Plus, if you choose to host your wedding in the Pavilion, you’ll have space on site for a private cocktail hour, access to a private bridal suite, and use of outdoor fire pits for a lovely evening touch. This space can accommodate up to 250 guests and has a minimum guest count of 100 on the weekends.
The next space available for your wedding is The Garden House, a unique octagonal venue with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the grounds. This elegant space has a built-in bar, making it easy to keep your guests refreshed throughout your event. Plus, if you’re hosting your wedding in The Pavilion, you can add on The Garden House for cocktail hour for an additional fee! The Garden House can accommodate up to 75 people and doesn’t have a minimum at any time.
Last but not least, The Farmstead is their newest venue space and one of their most popular. This gorgeous barn-inspired space has clean, white walls and vaulted ceilings accented with rich wooden beams. It’s an elegant farmhouse aesthetic with rustic chandeliers, barn doors, and hardwood floors. The Farmstead also includes its own private bridal suite for your use on the day of your wedding. It’s also Kent Island Resort’s largest space, with room for up to 300 guests. They do, however, have weekend minimums for this space, depending on the day, so be sure to check with their events team before you book!
Photography Opportunities
Kent Island Resort offers plenty of gorgeous photo opportunities, both indoors and out. The spectacular grounds feature ancient trees, gorgeous waterfront views, and wide open stretches of green. The inn looks incredible in the background of portraits, providing spectacular ambiance to your photos. Behind the wedding venue are beautiful fields that take on a spectacular glow at Golden Hour as the sun starts to set. You and your partner will treasure these intimate, stunning photos that effortlessly capture the romance and beauty of your unforgettable wedding day.
Wedding Details
When you host your wedding at Kent Island Resort, you can access various amenities to make your wedding day perfect. They’ll provide you with a venue coordinator to make sure everything runs smoothly on their end. Plus, their exceptional events team will ensure you have the support you need throughout your planning process.
Your reception will include your chairs, guest tables, white china, glassware, flatware, white or ivory table linens, and napkins. You can always bring in your own unique touches, but it’s nice to know you can rely on Kent Island Resort for basics.
